Macropharyngodon negrosensis
Paracheilinus mccoskeri
When I brought them home they had a 50 minute drip acclimatisation, floating in the refugium before being transferred into the social acclimatisation box. This had been in the tank for a couple of days so that everyone could get used to it.
The P. mccoskeri didn't like the transfer and immediately swam into the tube and made a mucus cocoon around himself. this can just be seen coming out of the end of the tube. The M. negrosensis hid in a corner for a while but then began swimming around more confidently.
I then witnessed what I thought was aggression from my two Halichoeres wrasse. They began swimming up to the box and trying to nip the new arrival. At least that is what it looked like until I realised they were taking small bits of food from the slots in the plastic!
After a couple of hours the mccoskeri had began poking his nose out of the tube and the other wrasse were not taking much notice.
